Today I opted to take a mental health day from work (pre-planned, of course). This is my third three-day weekend in four weeks. I could really get used this! Taking kids to daycare/school and enjoying a quiet day all to myself is heavenly and even productive. A yummy lasagna made it in the oven and a flopped attempt at a tiramisu cake completed my time in the kitchen. Thought about taking a picture of the mess, but it was too much of a disappointment. Despite the awful cake pile, it tasted rather good which gave me hope to try again sometime.
As I was cleaning up the cake explosion in the kitchen, E came upstairs totally naked and rather proud of herself. (She has been doing this regularly lately.) I asked her if she needed to go potty, and she replied, "yeah!" So she ran to the bathroom, opened the potty chair lid, sat for a bit and stood up and ran back out the door. Sure enough, she pottied! Second time too. She was soooo proud of herself. And we, of course, made a big deal out it. She was rewarded by going for a walk in the stroller which she LOVES to do.
We haven't pushed the potty training, but she has shown some strong signs of being ready. Not sure how I feel about doing this already. She's my baby! Kind of crazy that a baby can potty train before saying sentences and being weaned from a pacifier! We're thinking maybe it's just a fluke thing, but I figured I should document the big occasion in a blog post!!
Cheers to the new week and hoping Friday gets here quickly!!!!
Wowsers, that's awesome! I think it definitely helps when they have older siblings to try and catch up with. Way to go :)
ReplyDeleteLovely. Gooner stripped down at Q's soccer game! She was cold and wanted warmer pants on, seriously children! If she's ready she's ready! Growing so fast!
