LPS Tragedy

Lincoln Public Schools has had a devastating week. The night of Memorial Day a fire started at the District Office just a couple miles from our house. We experienced high winds on Monday and storms that started around midnight into Tuesday. About 10 blocks were closed to traffic during the first part of Tuesday. The building, which housed about 250 LPS employees, is a complete loss. Chris's email and related school website are not yet functioning due to the destruction of the servers. The building had so much paper fuel which was not helping efforts to stop the blaze.

Tuesday night we packed up the kids and drove down O Street to check things out. To our surprise, there were still flames apparent nearly 24 hours later.
