Pregnancy Updates, etc.

Blogging hasn't been a priority lately. I AM still with child, so that is not the reason I haven't posted for so long. The Christmas stuff has all been packed away, and we finally pulled out some baby necessities that we kept from Ava. Amidst working and making final preparations, I have had little time and energy lately! My last two doctor's appointments have not been posted, but things are all good and I am progressing normally. The most recent visit was last Tuesday, where I found out that I'm at a cervical dilation of about 2 cm. At this point, I'm just under three weeks away from my due date, but it really could be any time now. I think my body would appreciate going into labor early!!

We are treating this weekend as it's the last one before baby makes his or her appearance. This morning I had to work and tonight we have a dinner to go to, but hopefully we can utilize the rest of the weekend to finish the baby laundry and weeding out some basement junk (I think my husband and I both may be nesting!)

We were all doing so well staying healthy finally, but it looks like the girls may have come down with colds again. We already knew that they would be allowed just one hospital visit, being as they are siblings of the baby. However, if they have sickness symptoms, they won't be able to come to the L & D floor at all. With this being cold and flu season, the hospital visiting restrictions are very strict. L & D informed me that anyone under age 14 is not allowed on the floor unless they are healthy siblings up-to-date on all vaccinations. All four of us have received our H1N1 vaccine now, so that is at least out of the way!

The weather has been less than desirable here as well, as in most parts of the country! We've experienced subzero temps, more snowing and blowing and another three-day school closing streak. Now the schools have to figure out when they will make up the time. They already have five days figured into the school year, but they've used six and January has barely started!! This weather sure makes things slow at work too.

Well, better get things done while nap time is in session!
