Ahhh, The Toddler Years

Our youngest, "Little A," as her daddy has nicknamed her, is at that wonderful age of 2. Yes, the baby just turned TWO on Wednesday!! How time flies. Anyways, we have not had successful professional pictures taken of Little A since 6 months of age. We did get one decent photograph at 9 months, but that is the last one you will see hanging on our living room wall...even today. She has the cutest darn smile, but not one that she willingly gives out to strangers when mom or dad is out of arm's reach. Therefore, we do not have 2-year pictures to share with our friends and family. Shy, you ask? Nope, not really. She can carry on quite the conversations with strangers and even take off at a dead run in public places, just to be ornery. It's great fun. I have also learned when the photographer offers a reschedule, don't even bother. I said maybe we'll try again at age 3.

While funny in their own way, here are a few snapshots of our noncompliant toddler over the past year:

Then we have the cheesy smiles:

Stats from the doctor's visit on 8/5/09:

  • 30 lbs, 8 ozs. = 90th percentile for age (she's "slimming" down!)
  • 37.25" tall = 97th+ percentile for age
  • 19.25" head circumference = 85th percentile for age
  • BMI: 15.58 = 25th percentile for age
  • Lead = low level (good!)
  • Received 2 immunizations: 3rd Hib and 2nd Hep A
  • Talking A LOT; frequently making complete sentences 30+ phrases (proud parents!)
  • Start visiting dentist (lovely, already?); start using REAL toothpaste
  • Need to get her OFF pacifier - (won't be fun - she loves that thing; any help appreciated)

She sure brings much joy and laughter to the family. Can't wait to see what the year of life brings!
