Well, it is almost time to return to work. This time it is hard for me. I am pretty much dreading getting back into the work routine again. Maybe because this will likely be the last maternity leave for me. Or maybe because it means my baby is growing too fast despite being so sick for two weeks of her little life. Or maybe because of the busy schedule of our growing family and the stress it takes to raise a family, financially provide for them and feel helpless when the day ends and nothing gets done. I don't have the greatest job, but I do have some of the greatest coworkers and physicians which says a lot. It's hard to justify working full time with most of my income going to pay childcare which leaves me working primarily for health insurance. We do know how important health insurance is to our family. It has saved us from financial despair this year. Childcare is temporary after all, right??
I still have a short "to do" list to tackle before heading back to the daily grind. I look forward to doing some spring cleaning this week or next (the forecast is rather pleasing in the 70's finally!). Also, I have a little bit of basement organization to do, dentist visit and oil change. I am excited for sunshine and good weather. =)
Yesterday Elsie and I headed to the doctor's office for my second and last postpartum visit. She was not able to go with me the last time as she was in intensive care at Children's in Omaha. I was able to show her off yesterday though!! My doctor was thrilled to see her! He commented that we need to try for a boy and that he would guarantee it was a boy (or else they would keep her for us!). Ha!!
Oh Jess... I'm SO sorry you're dreading it so much. :( Nikki and Mary both came back on the same day, last week. It went really fast for me with them but it seems like you've been gone forever! :) My mom has always told me... daycare costs are temporary and yes, most parents work just to pay for it, but before you know it, they are out of daycare and you no longer have that burden. I hope these next 3 weeks go VERY slow for you!!! Although I am VERY excited to see you everyday again!! :)
ReplyDeleteYou poor thing! I always hated going back to work after maternity leave too. Enjoy your last three weeks with your sweet girl! Take her for lots of stroller rides! This weather rocks!
ReplyDeleteP.S. My hubby volunteered at NR tonight. He said Heather is moving to China for two years but will continue to come back to do the sales. Thank goodness!
