Tub Bath & Baby Eczema

Our little girl loves the big bath tub! She can stretch out and kick her feet and flail her arms. Mama likes it too because it's just easier.

Thanks for the froggy bath luve, Mrs. Ford!
It keeps me warm. It's simply lovely.

Since being in the hospital, Elsie has acquired problems with eczema. I would say it is a moderate to severe case at this point. She had so much tape on her face and extremities, and we discovered that she has pretty sensitive skin from that whole experience. She has the eczema on most of her face, neck, ears and some spots on her scalp. Eczema can be caused by irritants or other health problems, but it is also a bad time of year (dry) for baby skin to stay "perfect." Overbathing is another cause of eczema. Although I have never been one to overbathe, I should either cut out soap or switch from twice-a-week bathing to once-a-week bathing. As for treatment, we've tried Aquaphor ointment and have been told to also try hydrocortisone cream. Hopefully one or the other will help beautify those problem areas for our cute little bug! I cannot imagine how much it itches! Sometimes she rubs her face back and forth on my shoulder until her face is all red. Poor baby!
